  • MTS S.p.A – the first electronic bond market – launched by the Italian Treasury and Bank of Italy

1992

  • MTS markets start trading on proprietary platform

1994

  • Introduction of automated feed and STP from trade to settlement

1997

  • MTS launches electronic market for repo transactions
  • MTS S.p.A is privatised and begins expansion across Europe

1998

  • EuroMTS is created as the reference pan-European benchmark bond platform

2001

  • BondVision platform for the buy side launched
  • MTS S.p.A merges with EuroMTS

2002

  • MTS launches Real-Time Data, Snap-Shot Data and Delayed Data

2003

  • First MTS index launches – model publicly available

2007

  • LSE acquires MTS majority shareholding

2008

  • MTS Reference Data launched
  • Creation of EuroMTS AAA Government Index

2009

  • Jack Jeffery appointed as CEO

2010

  • Key upgrades to MTS Cash – MidPrice and Striker - and BondVision functionalities – Single Dealer Pages and MultiLeg

2011

  • MTS Credit corporate bond market launches
  • MTS launches Gilt market
  • MTS expands to Hungary and Czech Republic bringing the country coverage to 17
